In line with India's increased focus on reducing the energy deficit gap and developing alternative sources of energy particularly solar power, hydroelectric power and wind energy, CSA Group has stepped up to target two of these major energy sources:
"The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched the Atal Jyoti Yojana (AJAY). Under this programme, one of the entity of CSA Group has an operational contract with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a JV of PSUs of Ministry of Power, Government of India for "Design, Manufacture, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of Standalone OFF Grid Solar LED Street Lights, in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh including complete system warranty and its AMC for 5 years.
The rural, semi-urban and urban areas that face less than 50% grid connectivity in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha will be illuminated with solar LED street lights. These solar lights will be installed on major roads, markets, and public conveniences in remote areas to not only brighten up our streets but enhance safety and security of our citizens, particularly women and children, while reducing accident rates."
The State Governments has taken several initiatives to encourage private sector participation in hydropower development. CSA Group is exploring possibilities to partake in the development of a Hydel Project in the Public Private Participation being promoted by state governments in this field.
